Nutcessity makes premium, organic nut butters that taste fantastic and make you feel good. Each unique recipe has no added sugar or oil, is completely free from peanuts and gluten, and is suitable for vegans. We make our nut butters in small batches in England.

Mike’s peanut allergy motivated him to start Nutcessity in 2016 to fulfill his need for organic, healthy, delicious nut butter. Since 2016, Nutcessity has been blending walnuts, cashews, almonds & coconut to create unconventional, peanut-free nut butters. The date & walnut nut butter has been awarded a Great Taste Award and caromel cashew nut butter was nominated for the Soil Association’s ‘Nation’s Favourite Product Award’. 

Nutcessity butters are made from only the best certified organic ingredients and available in recyclable glass jars.  Our organic nut butters are as good for the planet as they are for you.

Our organic butter has a deeper, richer flavour than all others

Whether you’re into clean eating, obsessed with protein or simply want something delicious to elevate your porridge or smoothie, there’s a nut butter for you.  There are three flavours: Gingerbread Almond, Date & Walnut and Caromel Cashew.  Each Nutcessity organic nut butter is sweetened only with natural fruit (apricots, dates & carob) and no added sugar or oil (at all). The texture is a bit firmer and less cloying, whilst the flavour is wholesome but with a slight sweetness and salt-edge.

We use only the finest quality 100% natural and certified organic ingredients. All of our butters are peanut free and gluten free. Our nut butter is designed not only to be tasty, but to make you feel great too, both inside and out.  Crafted in small batches to guarantee best quality and taste.

Nutcessity considers the environment throughout the business model. We don’t use plastic at all, and our labels are certified plastic-free by A Plastic Planet.

Paper bags are given at markets / Bamboo spatulas are used for sampling, with organic rice/corn cakes to compliment / We encourage recycling with imagery on case boxes & on the jar / We use glass jars rather than plastic.

Once more, each product is Soil Association organic certified, meaning environmentally-damaging pesticides are omitted in the supply-chain.

I’ve been making my organic alternates to peanut butter since August 2016.

I’ve been making my organic alternates to peanut butter since August 2016. Before that, I blended various types of nuts and seeds in my home kitchen because they were so delicious. It got to a point where I wanted other people to try them too. I now stock over 40 independents with my different/weird blends of coconut, nuts, seeds & natural ingredients. Each of my three varieties has no gluten or peanuts, is vegan, and contains no added oil or sugar.

Since May 2019 Nutcessity has been supporting FRANK Water in their mission to provide safe, clean drinking water to Nepalese & Indian communities. Nutcessity donates 1% (at least £300) to the charity each year.

Almonds

A rich source of fibre, protein, and a number of essential vitamins and minerals, such as B-vitamins, potassium, magnesium, and zinc

Cashews

High in protein & essential minerals including copper, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, potassium and zinc

Walnuts

Vegan source of the essential fatty acid omega-3. They contain iron, selenium, calcium, zinc, vitamin E and some B vitamins

Ginger

Pain reliever due to its anti-inflammatory properties and can help soothe the digestive system and reduce nausea

Sunflower seeds

High in vitamin E and selenium that function as antioxidants to protect your body’s cells against free radical damage

Pumpkin seeds

A great source of protein, omega-3 EFA  iron, calcium, selenium, B vitamins and beta-carotene

Cinnamon

The antioxidants in cinnamon have been found to help reduce blood pressure, balance blood sugars and prevent type 2 diabetes

Carob

high in calcium, zinc & iron, carob powder is slightly sweet and contains no caffeine
