Based in Somerset, Greenscents is a family business that pioneers sustainable and ethical solutions for household and laundry products. A passion for an organic lifestyle and a love of fragrance meant that Peter and Christina Hawkes took action and greenscents was born!
All our products are certified by The Soil Association and contain more than 70% organic ingredients. The company is also certified by The Vegan Society, Cruelty-Free International, Allergy UK. Research by Ethical Consumer revealed that Greenscents is the most ethical brand for laundry and household products in the UK (2017). Our certifications give you the assurance that sustainability, the environment and the wellbeing of people and wildlife are at the heart of our everything we do.
All Greenscents products are made by hand in our own workshop in Dulverton, rural Somerset using premium certified organic, vegan ingredients. Our entire range is made with minimal processing in small batches and often to order which reduces waste and ensures that Greenscents products reach you in perfect condition.

Greenscents unique formulation provides superb cleaning power with organic and natural ingredients. Every product in the Greenscents household and laundry range is certified organic with The Soil Association. This means that you can be assured that Greenscents products are made from organically farmed ingredients which are not genetically modified (GM) using no herbicides or synthetic fertilisers. Greenscents products are fragranced using organic essential oils and nothing else. The fragrance range includes citrus, lavender, herbal and minty.

All Greenscents products are free from SLES/SLS/ALS/ALES, Phosphates, Enzymes, Chlorine bleaches, Palm oil, Parabens, Gluten, Alcohol, Synthetic or artificial perfumes, Ethoxylation, sulphonation or propoxylation during production, Animal ingredients, Phthalate, Formaldehyde, MI and MCI, Triclosan, GMO’s (genetically modified organisms) or SMO’s (synthetically modified organisms).

All Greenscents products are made from a palette of non-toxic, low allergen ingredients which makes them perfect for babies and small children. Perfect for those with sensitive skin, allergies
All Greenscents products are suitable for people with sensitive skin. However, our Nonscents range is unfragranced, so it is particularly suitable if you have very sensitive skin or are allergic to essential oils. Greenscents products do not contain SLS or SLES — common skin irritants in laundry and household cleaners and all of our products are certified ‘allergy friendly’ by Allergy UK.
Sustainable and biodegradable
All our products are fully biodegradable with all ingredients used sourced from sustainable sources. The “I’m Green” logo means that Greenscents has made a commitment to renewable, environmentally sustainable packaging. All Greenscents bottles are plastic-free, made from biopolymer plastics which are produced from the waste products from sugar cane.

Our mission is to produce household cleaning and laundry products that are the most sustainable and ethical that you can buy and we’re well on our way! At Greenscents, we never use SLES/SLS/ALS/ALES, phosphates, enzymes, chlorine bleaches, palm oil, parabens and GM ingredients. The list below contains a few of ingredients that make up our products.
Organic eucalyptus globulus oil
The refreshing aroma of this essential oil is an important ingredient in the Greenscents ‘herbal’ fragrance blend. The strong antiseptic and antimicrobial properties of Eucalyptus globulus oil naturally boost the cleaning power of our products.
Organic orange essential oil
This zesty, uplifting oil is a key component of the ‘citrus’ blend of Greenscents fragrances and is a natural degreasing agent. Sweet orange oil is a proven antimicrobial agent helping to neutralise e.coli & salmonella and is naturally antiseptic and anti-inflammatory too.
Organic peppermint essential oil
In addition to its wonderfully refreshing fragrance, peppermint oil has powerful antibacterial properties, which make it ideal for our natural cleaning & laundry products. As an added bonus, peppermint acts as a natural pest deterrent, too!
Organic aloe vera
The moisturising and healing properties of aloe vera are important in many Greenscents products. Aloe vera has no known side effects for topical use, which makes it suitable for those with sensitive skin.
Organic cocoa butter
Skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis can be treated when cocoa butter is applied to the skin. Cocoa butter has natural moisture-retaining abilities which make it suitable for both skin care and as a laundry conditioner.
Organic jojoba oil
This versatile oil is a clear and it has moisturising qualities for the skin. Jojoba oil is an effective fungicide, which is useful when cleaning bathrooms or kitchens where mould may be an issue.
Organic cider vinegar
Organic cider vinegar is a great disinfectant and deodoriser as well as having many health benefits. At Greenscents, organic cider vinegar is an important component of our loo cleaner, where the vinegar not only kills germs but helps to dissolve limescale as well.
Organic lavandin essential oil
The calming aromas of lavender create some of our most popular fragrances. Like all essential oils, lavendin oil is a complex mix of naturally occurring phytochemicals with special properties that can have antimicrobial & anti-inflammatory effects.
Organic rosemary essential oil
Rosemary has a clean, refreshing, aromatic smell and has been used as an astringent since Roman times. It also has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which are a really useful addition to Greenscents products.
