Sweet-tart flavour organic gooseberry jam
Prepared with delicious freshly picked Gooseberries. It is tangy and fruity and has a good balance of sweet and sour, unlike some shop-bought jams which are too sugary.
It takes a lot longer to make the jam, as we don’t use the thickeners or pectin that you sometimes see in the list of ingredients on jam, to produce it quickly. We use organic sugar as a setting aid.
We only use Soil Association certificated produce in our preserves. Being organic is important to me as I like to be able to read an ingredients label and know exactly what that ingredient is without having to have a degree in chemistry to decipher it.
Excellent on toast for breakfast or with scones for afternoon tea. You can add them to some savoury dishes due to their tartness, go well with fatty meats such as pork or duck or oily fish such as mackerel.
Keep refrigerated after opening and use within 4 weeks.
